We are excited to share Food for Thought, the third issue of Rohingyatographer Magazine—a visual ethnographic survey that explores the role of food in Rohingya life beyond mere sustenance.
Featuring nearly 500 photographs by 32 Rohingya photographers, this 332-page publication offers an intimate portrayal of how food is distributed, prepared, consumed, and shared within the camps. It highlights both the challenges of food insecurity and the resourcefulness of the Rohingya people—from cultivating home gardens to selling produce in local markets.
More than a collection of recipes, Food for Thought celebrates the cultural identity, resilience, and creativity of the Rohingya community. It captures the communal aspects of meals—such as Iftar during Ramadan and festive feasts—showcasing how food sustains both the body and the bonds that unite communities.
