TRIAL International

ABOUT
TRIAL International believes in a world where impunity for international crimes is no longer tolerated. The obligation to hold accountable the perpetrators of genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes, sexual violence, torture and enforced disappearances, together with the opportunity for victims to obtain justice and reparation, can deter the future commission of these crimes.
TRIAL International’s mission is to fight impunity for international crimes and support victims in their quest for justice. International crimes include genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes, enforced disappearances, sexual violence and extrajudicial execution.
TRIAL International takes an innovative approach to the law, paving the way to justice for survivors of unspeakable sufferings. The organization provides free legal assistance to victims, litigates cases, develops local capacity and pushes the human rights agenda forward.
Founded in 2002, TRIAL International has offices in three countries (Switzerland, Bosnia & Herzegovina and DRC) and a local structure in Nepal. In addition, it works on cases in several other countries, often in collaboration with local NGOs.
